Im a realist and a great believer in cultivating a strong attitude. I have always been very grounded in my beliefs and in the way I have set about doing what had to be done. This has stood me in such good stead that the change to real estate was a successful transformation. I knew I would be able to do it because I believe in my ability to succeed. I have always enjoyed working with people and looking after them. Today at Harcourts I get the best of both worlds. I still work with people, particularly previous clients, but now as a director get to build fantastic teams to cater for every real estate need. They love to help people achieve the steps they want in life in terms of selling or buying real estate. They get an immense thrill when they receive thankyou’s from someone they have helped. This is their icing on the cake and there is always the possibility of making life long friends. I still get calls from clients I dealt with 10 years ago. I love the variety and unpredictability of my days. I never know what I will have to do, whom I will meet and where I will have to go. It’s a real buzz and I always give every request my best shot. I want to achieve more than is expected. There is a sense of competition within myself and my teams that make us work harder on your behalf. I have had my share of industry awards and it is comforting to know that I am respected for my professional ability and achievements. Now my team continues that path willingly. But at the end of the day it is the respect from our clients and the fact that we have made them happy by getting the best possible price for them or finding the perfect home for them that means everything to us. Plus there is the loyalty and support from Harcourts. I cherish the bonus of doing a job I enjoy while reaping the rewards of the real camaraderie inherent within this dynamic team. For me work is not just a four letter word. I like being punctual, I freely put in the extra hours and don’t watch the clock because I enjoy over delivering on service, advice and knowledge.
