Thomas Massam
Associate Director / Area ManagerThomas Massam was born and bred at Bruce Rock in the central wheat-belt of WA. He later entered the work force and completed a five-year trade certificate in Building and Joinery. During this time he was involved in cycle racing, winning state championships and representing WA for 2 years in the 125 mile Australian Road Championship, with a famous gold medal win in the 125 mile team championship. Thomas also competed in ballroom dancing, winning state championships and a Pan Pacific competition. Thomas spent 5 years as a National Service Man in the Australian Army Third Field Regiment as a gunner. He proudly wears his medals and marches in St Georges Terrace with his association every ANZAC Day. Thomas was then appointed construction manager of a Civil Engineering Company which held contracts to lay, relay, re-sleeper and ballast railroads and marshalling yards across the state. He then purchased a farm of 3750 acres in the Dandaragan area, sold this and purchased 4000 acres at Nyabing, sold this and purchased 2 properties at Kudardup running 2000 merino sheep. He was elected president and local area representative of the local farmers union, captain of the volunteer fire brigade, volunteer ambulance driver, President of the local church council, president of the local political party and Regional & State councillor. With children requiring high school education Thomas sold these two Kudardup properties and moved to Perth. Thomas commenced his Real Estate career in July of 1968 and was top Sales Person in his first month and Branch Manager within 3 months. He then joined Kevin Sullivan and Associates and was promoted to Sales Manager and Auctioneer where he consistently won the Top Salesman awards. In 1981, Thomas opened his own business "Thomas Massam Real Estate" at the Karrinyup Shopping Centre and later branches at Kingsley, Heathridge and Doubleview. He sold out in 1995 joining our team as Licensee and Manager of a branch office.
